About Us

BVB International Academy provides amazing opportunities for players

BVB International Academy – Great Plains training is based on an elite curriculum and continuous coaching education, and our players have opportunities to play and train with some of the best players in the country.

Here are just a few of the amazing opportunities BVB Provides:

• Our player pathway connects with the Youth Academy in Dortmund, Germany

• A Full-time College Athlete Placement (CAP)  Program Director works directly with our regional CAP Program Director

•  BVB International Academy – Great Plains  teams wear full Borussia Dortmund uniforms

While some clubs partner with European clubs, they are typically done through a third party. In these situations, the club partners with a marketing company, who in turn has the connection to the professional club. These are superficial relationships where a European Club staff member comes to the U.S. for a brief summer camp. The teams cannot call themselves by the professional team’s name or wear their uniform. Our players are able to do both because of our selection to actually become part of BVB International Academy.

• Coaching Accreditation

Our coaching staff is closely connected to the BVB Academy in Germany. We use their curriculum to guide training, completing a coaching accreditation program and participating in monthly calls. Our coaches have the opportunity to train at the BVB Academy in Dortmund, Germany.

• Dedicated Home Field

• Regional and National events will be hosted at our home facility, Calcio Village

When complete in 2019/2020, Calcio Village will become the headquarters for the Great Plains region which includes Kansas, Nebraska, parts of Iowa and Missouri. We work directly with BVB International Academy - America to facilitate its Regional and National ID camps which gives our players the opportunity to train with staff from the BVB Academy in Germany with the purpose of identifying players who may have the potential to one day play with BVB Youth Academy teams in Germany.

ID camps held here regionally and nationally also create further exposure for our players to college coaches and beyond. These incredible opportunities are the same for both girls and boys, and BVB is currently increasing their efforts to scout and identify young talent for both regional and national events across the U.S. We are pioneering amazing new opportunities for our players!

• Strong Sponsor Support

BVB International Academy Great Plains is officially sponsored by Puma.

What does BVB mean?

BVB means Ballspiel-Verein Borussia (that's German for Borussia club for ball games). The correct club name is "BV Borussia 09 e.V. Dortmund", with "09" pointing to 1909, the year of the club's founding.
